Open Studios 2025
As usual I will be opening my home studio for two weekends and showing a wide range of framed and mounted prints and textile pieces plus affordable gifts including scarves, t-shirts, sketch books and cards.
The wonderful ceramicist Ursula Waechter will join me with her beautiful and functional pots - mugs, bowls, plates, planters etc

Insight Exhibition
The flagship exhibition for Open Studios runs from 10-26 May and is open 10am to 5pm daily.
​
This is a great place to start and plan your Open Studios visits, it includes paintings, prints, textiles, ceramics, jewellery and much more and has two or three pieces by every artist participating in Open Studios.

Christmas Fair at City Arts
I will have lots of affordable gifts at City Arts, from hand dyed scarves, T-shirts and bags to sketchbooks with hand made covers and small prints and stitched pictures.

There will be lots of other local makers and delicious home baked cakes, teas and barista coffees.

Sewing Workshop: Creative Patches
Jazz up your wardrobe or save your favourite jeans with patches and simple stitches. You can make a denim sampler or bring some jeans.
You will learn some easy and effective techniques and benefit from the joy of meditative stitch and the satisfaction of upcycling.

Sewing Workshop: Free Form Patching and Darning
Take mending and upcycling to the next level. Bring jeans or a jumper or work on a sampler.
Let your imagination run free and create dynamic mends and decorations using techniques inspired by Boro, Sashiko, Kantha and traditional embroidery and darning.

Artisan Fair at City Arts
I will be at City Arts Newbury Friday, Saturday and Sunday along with lots of other local makers hoping to help you solve your gift conundrums.

I have hand dyed scarves, t-shirts, bags, sketchbooks with unique printed and stitched covers, hand made cards and pictures.
​
Other makers have their ceramics, prints, paintings, quilts, children's clothes, decorations and much more.

This is an eight-artist print collaboration which is open 6 - 28 May in St John's Church (the big brick one):

Free Art Class at City Arts
Friday Art@ the Art Hub Cafe are free adult drop-in sessions for wellbeing. 11am-12.30 on Fridays. Please book with City Arts - a full list of sessions is on their website.

On Friday 26 May I will be teaching this lovely English paper piecing technique which is a traditional way of making patchwork from fabric scraps...warning, it can be addictive!
Make a flower motif which could become a patch or the start of a bigger quilt if you get hooked.

Beyond 4 Walls
Inspired by the freedom felt after the lockdowns, this exhibition by TextileArt07 showcases a wide range of work using a multitude of techniques. It is aptly sited in the Control Tower on Greenham Common, a location that became synonymous with freedom for so many local people during Covid.

Collagraph Printed Pebbles
In this class you will learn how to create multiple pebble-shaped collagraph plates using a wide variety of techniques and then ink, wipe and print your plates to create several charming composite prints similar to this.
